Compared with former Indian captain Virat Kohli, the rest of the Fab 4 players have played more domestic cricket than him. Joe Root’s last first-class domestic game was in May 2024, when he was a part of the Yorkshire County Championship Division Two side against Sussex.

Kane Williamson’s last first-class domestic cricket match was in November 2024, playing for Northern Districts at Auckland for the Plunket Shield. For Kane Williamson, he made 60 and 4, and his team won by 179 runs.

Steve Smith last played domestic first-class cricket in October 2024 for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield against Victoria. But Steve Smith went into a shell straight away, scoring only three runs in two innings. He struggled to get a 3 on 29 balls in the first innings but received a duck in the next innings.
