Post the completion of the T20 series where India avenged Australia 2-1, will now head into the Test series which starts on 17th of December in Adelaide. Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be playing only the first Test at Adelaide as he’s all set to fly back to India as the to-be father is expecting his first child with wife Anushka Sharma.

Prior to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, beginning December 17, another warm-up match is scheduled to place in which Virat Kohli has almost ruled out his participation given that he’s played 6 games on the trot in this series during the limited-overs leg. The first test at Adelaide is all set to be a day-night Test under the lights. Before this, India has just played one pink-ball Test against Bangladesh in 2019 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

As a result, the Indian cricketer will require the much-needed match practice and have planned to play a warm-up game against Australia A from December 11.

I will wake up tomorrow and see if I can play the tour match – Virat Kohli

After the completion of the 3rd and final T20, Virat Kohli in a press conference notified that he’s still undecided on whether he’ll be playing the pink-ball warm-up match on 11th December. Kohli has indicated that he probably won’t be playing in the warm-up game. The Indian skipper further added that since the match holds the First-class status, all the players will have to give their 100%.

“I will wake up tomorrow and see if I can play the tour match. Playing it on and off is not my thing and I like to play the full game. I will talk to our physio and then decide on my participation,” said Virat Kohli.

Though Kohli has almost ruled himself out, it is almost certain that Mayank Agarwal, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will be featuring in the warm-up game as they moved away from the Indian team before the 3rd T20I to get moving for the Test series.
