Virat Kohli’s Gala Time In Bangladesh Continues, Sings ‘Jo Wada Kiya Woh’at The High Commission Of India In Dhaka

After guiding his side to an irrefutable victory over arch rivals Pakistan with a handsome 49 in the Round Robin league of the Asia Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpore on Saturday, India’s ace batsman Virat Kohli on Sunday attended a function organised by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and was asked to sing a song on stage. Having faced the hostile pace and swing of Pakistan’s intimidating duo of Mohammed Amir and Mohammed Irfan the night before, the 27 year old Indian limited overs vice-Captain did not shy away from the challenge and meekly accepted the humble request put in by the anchor. Virat who is known to be an ardent listener of peppy Punjabi tracks and groovy party numbers took the audience by surprise by singing a few lines from the 1963 Taj Mahal classic, ‘’Jo wada kiya whoh, nibhana padega’’; originally sung jointly by Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi and composed by Roshan. A video of the same was posted by Kohli himself on his Instagram account and has created quite a stir in the virtual media ever since its release.

While his fans have been enchanted by the vocal skills of the talismanic batsman, the song perhaps gave a hint of his intention of considering a possible reconciliation with his ‘former’ girlfriend and Bollywood starlet Anushka Sharma after the former was urged by Anushka’s brother Karnesh, to patch things up following a reported dissent between the two.

Here is Part 1

India play their next two games against Sri Lanka and UAE in the league stages of the Asia Cup and Kohli will need to shoulder added responsibilities in the batting department in the absence of the injured opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.

It would be absolutely safe to place your bet on Kohli at such a juncture. It is needless to say that he is one man who if vouches for something will leave no stone unturned to fulfil his promise (wada).
