Virat Kohli’s Ranji Return After 12 Years To Stream Live: Reports

Virat Kohli is set to make his Ranji Trophy comeback after 12 years, prompting the BCCI to make a last-minute decision to stream the Delhi vs Railways match live on Jio Cinema from 9:30 AM IST, as reported by ‘India Today’.

The former Indian captain opted to participate in the first-class tournament to regain form following recent struggles in red-ball cricket. In his last 10 Tests against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia, Kohli scored just one half-century and a century.

With India’s five-Test series in England approaching, Kohli aims to find consistency and secure his spot. He was recently spotted arriving in his Porsche at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to train with Delhi’s squad, who are currently sixth in Elite Group D with 14 points from six matches.

Interestingly, the star batter recently trained with former Team India batting coach Sanjay Bangar, focusing on improving his backfoot play and exploring scoring options square of the wicket.

How Did Virat Kohli Perform in His Latest Ranji Trophy Match?

Virat Kohli’s last Ranji Trophy appearance was in November 2012 against Uttar Pradesh at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad. He scored 14 and 43 in the two innings, but Uttar Pradesh, led by Suresh Raina, won by six wickets while chasing 158 in the final innings.

At that time, Kohli was still building his reputation as an important player for India in all formats. This match turned out to be the last of his Ranji career for more than ten years, as his responsibilities with the national team took priority.

Kohli will next wear the blue jersey for India’s upcoming ODI series against England, starting on February 6 in Nagpur. These 50-over matches will serve as crucial preparation for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19, with India opening their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20.
