Delhi Capitals thumped Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium to make it to their first-ever IPL final. Wishes flooded all social media platforms after victory including one hilarious wish from former India opener Virender Sehwag.
Batting first, Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan provided a blistering start to Delhi Capitals after opting to bat first. Although David Warner & Co bounced back but Dhawan continued his superb form in IPL 2020 to carry on the innings. Dhawan contributed with 78 runs but it was the late cameo from Shimron Hetmyer that powered Delhi Capitals to 189.
Delhi bowlers provided the perfect start taking early wickets to put Sunrisers Hyderabad under pressure. Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad took the game deep but a brilliant over from Kagiso Rabada where he scalped three wickets took Shreyas Iyer & Co to their first-ever IPL final. They will lock horns with defending champions Mumbai Indians in the summit clash on November 10. It will be a difficult hurdle to cross after losing in all three meetings in IPL 2020 so far.
Virender Sehwag makes a hilarious post
Delhi Capitals are one of the five teams which has been part of every IPL season since the inception, DC were the only side that hadn’t played an IPL final. In fact, they endured poor form from 2013 to 2018 and failed to qualify for the second round even once during this period.

It was from 2019 when the management took some brave decisions, their fortunes changed and they made it to the playoffs after seven years. Wishes poured in for Delhi as they qualified for their maiden IPL final. Virender Sehwag, who led DC in 52 matches during his six-year stay there, came up with a hilarious post.
“Congratulations #DelhiCapitals on reaching the finals. The only active IPL team to have not ever played a final makes it to the final. 2020… Aur bahut kuch dikhayega.#DCvSRH,” Virender Sehwag wrote on Twitter.
