Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer loves to share witty and humorous posts often on social media. Once again, he came up with a funny response and trolled the veteran cricketer Kevin Pietersen for his old tweet after New Zealand knocked out England in the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Notably, Pietersen had earlier tweeted that the two teams who can beat England are Pakistan and Afghanistan and that too if they play on a used wicket in Sharjah. However, Kane Williamson-led New Zealand team successfully beat England in the first semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup and reached the final.

“Only Pakistan or Afghanistan can beat England in this T20 World Cup. BUT and it’s a BIG BUT, the game would have to be played on a used wicket in Sharjah. Anywhere else, just hand England the trophy like Chelsea should be handed the EPL trophy RIGHT NOW!,” read Pietersen’s tweet from November 2.

To which, Wasim Jaffer posted a picture of Kane Williamson, with a funny caption, “Haa, hum to yaha bass Burj Khalifa dekhne aaye hai (Yeah, because we have just come to see the Burj Khalifa).

New Zealand prevail over England in a thrilling contest

As far as the game is concerned, New Zealand has registered a convincing victory against England in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and made it to the maiden T20 World Cup final. While chasing 167, Daryl Mitchell’s unbeaten 72 off 47 and James Neesham’s quickfire 11-ball 27-run cameo helped them win the game.

While praising Mitchell’s effort, captain Kane Williamson said post-match: “Definitely something that stood out today (Mitchell’s character). Has batted beautifully in a high-pressure situation. T20 cricket – it’s a game of small margins. Depending on the surface, the short side – these things can be match-defining. He came out and hit the ball hard, that’s what he does (Neesham). Changed the momentum really.

“Fantastic knock from Daryll, hit the big shots when it counted. We’ll be following that match – going to be fantastic. We know we have another challenge coming up and we’ll change our focus after tonight,” Kane Williamson added.

Daryl Mitchell, who won the Player of the Match award, said: “It was a bit of a whirl at the end there. I couldn’t remember what was going on, but I’m happy I got the job done. It was a challenging surface, with the new ball, and it was two-paced. The way Conway set the platform and Neesh hit a few out of the ground was amazing. We knew one or two good overs would do it, and we got the momentum back thanks to Neesham’s hitting.”
