Former Indian Test batsman Wasim Jaffer trolled former England skipper Micheal Vaughan after India’s historic win at the MCG. India won the Melbourne Test by 8 wickets as they chased down 70 required for victory in a rather comprehensive manner.

This was a big comeback of sorts after India was thoroughly outplayed in the first Test registering their lowest score ever in red-ball cricket. This win brings them back into the series as Ajinkya Rahane maintained his 100 percent winning record in Test matches as India skipper.

Meanwhile, immediately after India’s win, Wasim Jaffer replied to Michael Vaughan’s tweet which he made after India’s historic loss in Adelaide. Vaughan predicted that India would be whitewashed 4-0. Vaughan’s comment came in after India had a batting collapse in Adelaide where they were bowled out for 36 inside the first hour of the third morning.

In reply to Vaughan’s tweet, Wasim Jaffer replied back saying “pichli baar kya bola thaa? Whitewash” eluding to his prediction after India’s loss in the first test.

Meanwhile, India bounced back in style to win the second Test as Ajinkya Rahane characterised this victory. He also was adjudged as the Man of the Match after his match-winning century that shaped up this Indian win. It was also India’s fourth win at this venue and one of their happy hunting grounds in overseas Test cricket.

Ajinkya Rahane also spoke after the match giving due credit to his bowlers and the whole team for fighting it out and earning a victory.

“Really proud of all the players. Played really well. Want to give credit to the debutants Siraj and Gill, the character they showed after the Adelaide loss was great to see. Character was important for us, especially after losing Umesh in the second innings.

The talk was all about showing the attitude and intent on the field. As I said, character. Adelaide was about one hour that took the game away from us. Lots to learn for even now” said Rahane post India’s win in Melbourne.
