Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer AB de Villiers grabbed onto a stunning catch to dismiss Jonny Bairstow as Sunrisers Hyderabad squeezing on to a victory in the IPL 2021 game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Shahbaz Ahmed struck two in two balls to bring Bangalore back in the game which looked impossible until then with Hyderabad needing only eight runs per over.
Chasing a moderate total, David Warner and Manish Pandey gave Sunrisers Hyderabad a good start after losing Wriddhiman Saha early. The right hand-left hand pair added 83 runs for the second wicket to set the run chase before Warner departed scoring 54 runs off just 37 balls. The dismissal brought last match’s half-centurion – Jonny Bairstow into the middle. He along with Manish looked in complete control of things before Shahbaz Ahmed rocked Sunrisers Hyderabad with three wickets in an over.

It was a lovely delivery from Shahbaz Ahmed. Credit to him for bowling it full and tempting the set batsman. Jonny Bairstow went for the big slog-sweep over mid-wicket and holed out only finding the top-edge. . Positioned behind the stumps, AB de Villiers called for it and ran to short mid-wicket and takes it with the gloves. Bairstow walks back looking at the toe-end of the bat.
Shahbaz Ahmed picked three wickets in one over including two set batsmen – Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow to put Royal Challengers Bangalore back in the scheme of things. From 115 for two to 116 for five, Shahbaz Ahmed pushed the Orange Army onto the backfoot.
