Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma was in top form as he smashed Vijaykumar Vyshak for four sixes in a single over during their IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings. The left-hander brought up his fifty in just 18 balls in Mullanpur on Saturday, April 11.
After being sent in to bat first, Abhishek and Travis Head started aggressively right from the beginning. SRH raced to 60 runs in just four overs, putting pressure on bowlers like Xavier Bartlett, Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh, who couldn’t make much impact.
Captain Shreyas Iyer tried changing the bowlers, but it didn’t help. Abhishek welcomed the new bowler with a big six over covers. After one dot ball, he smashed two more sixes to complete his half-century and then ended the over with another six.

This is the first fifty of the season for Abhishek Sharma. In his previous match against Lucknow Super Giants, he was out for zero after being dismissed by Mohammed Shami.

Sunrisers Hyderabad came out all guns blazing in the powerplay, with openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head crossing the 100-run mark for the third time in this phase. Around half of the balls were hit for boundaries, with Abhishek alone scoring 12 of them.
At this point, Shreyas Iyer had to try something different and brought in part-time pacer Shashank Singh to slow things down by taking away pace from the batters. After seven overs, SRH are in a strong position at 111/0, with Abhishek playing brilliantly on 67 runs off just 24 balls.
