England hard-hitting batter, Alex Hales scored a century for Desert Vipers against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in International League T20 tournament played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 20 January 2023.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders captain Sunil Narine won the toss and decided to field first. Rohan Mustafa fell cheaply contributing just 8 runs. Alex Hales opened the innings for the Vipers putting pressure on opponent bowlers right from the word go. At the end of the first six overs, Hales and Munro took the Vipers to 61 for 1.
Alex Hales looked in great touch completing a half-century off 30 balls putting enough pressure on Knight Riders’ bowlers. He and Colin Munro took the charge with an attacking mindset. After completing his milestone, Hales hammered the Rider’s bowlers hitting them for sixes and boundaries. Hales completed his century off 52 balls to keep the momentum going.
Colin Munro also completed his half-century off 39 deliveries. Hales was eventually dismissed for 110 off 59 balls with 7 fours and 6 sixes with an amazing strike rate of 186.44. Thanks to Hales and Munro’s partnership putting on 164 runs for the 2nd wicket, Desert Vipers posted a massive total of 219 for 4.

Hales has been in sensational form so far for Desert Vipers. He played so far 2 matches with 83 not out off 52 balls against Sharjah Warriors on 15 January 2023 at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai.
Alex Hales made headlines with the bat
Alex Hales has proved time and again for England in the T20 format. During the T20 World Cup semi-finals against India played at Adelaide Oval, Hales and Buttler proved too much as they won the match by 10 wickets to move into the finals.
He is currently the 3rd England batter with 2074 runs from 75 matches. Hales has the highest induvial score for England in the T20I format of 116 not out against Sri Lanka in T20I World Cup played at Zahur Chaudhary Stadium, Chattorgam on 27th March 2014. His ability to hit boundaries at will makes him a dangerous batter to bowl at.
