[WATCH]- Annabel Sutherland’s Stunning Dive Dismisses Amelia Kerr In DC vs MI WPL 2025

Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder Annabel Sutherland pulled off a spectacular diving catch to dismiss Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Amelia Kerr during the WPL 2025 clash. The match was held on Friday (February 28) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The dismissal occurred in the 17th over of the first innings when Amelia Kerr faced DC off-spinner Minnu Mani. On the third ball of the over, Mani tossed up a flighted delivery, prompting Kerr to attempt a lofted shot on the leg side. However, she mistimed it, sending the ball toward the mid-wicket region.

Sutherland sprinted from long on and executed a full-length dive to complete a clean catch, sending Kerr back to the pavilion. You can watch the video here:

Jonassen, Mani Shine as DC Restrict MI to 123/9 in WPL 2025

Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai Indians had a slow start, with Hayley Matthews (22) and Yastika Bhatia (11) struggling to find their rhythm. Both batters fell in quick succession, leaving MI at 35/2.

Their key middle-order players—Nat Sciver-Brunt (18), Harmanpreet Kaur (22), and Amelia Kerr (17)—managed to get starts but couldn’t capitalize, further hampering Mumbai’s chances of setting a competitive total. Amanjot Kaur provided a late boost with an unbeaten 17 off 10 balls, helping MI reach 123/9 in 20 overs.

DC’s spinners, Jess Jonassen and Minnu Mani, dominated with three wickets each. Annabel Sutherland also contributed, taking one wicket and executing a brilliant fielding effort to dismiss Amelia Kerr. During the mid-innings break, Sutherland shared her thoughts on the first innings (via Cricbuzz):

“We adjusted really well to the conditions, got into our lengths really well and we were able to take wickets all throughout the innings. That’s the key here.”

”We could snag a few during the middle and put a hold on their innings which we did really well. She (Jonassen) is such a competitor and a wicket-taker too. So good to have her in our team. We are going to take the game on like we always do.”
