We have seen many incidents happen on the field like players getting injured while playing and one such bizarre incident happened during the Boxing Day Test when South Africa bowler Anrich Nortje got hit by the Spidercam on Tuesday. However, the veteran bowler was fielding at the backward square during Australia’s first innings on Day 2 when he was hit by a flying spider camera as well.
However, with the sudden impact, the 29-year-old bowler was seen falling down on the ground of the MCG and the play was paused momentarily as well. Moreover, Australian batter Steve Smith was one of the players who was seen going to him and checking on Anrich Nortje, who was able to return to his feet – soon after without a concussion or injury.
However, the bizarre incident happened after David Warner smacked a century in his 100th Test match for Australia and make it memorable as well. Warner was joined at the crease by Steve Smith and they added an impressive 239-run partnership, which saw the Australian side take control of the match as well. Later on, Smith got out for 85 runs, with Warner going on to score a double-century as well.
Here’s the @FoxCricket Flying Fox / Spider Cam doing its bit to help the Aussie cricketers build a healthy lead against South Africa… 😬🎥 Hope the player it collided with (Nortje?) is okay! #AUSvSA pic.twitter.com/9cIcPS2AAq
