India, requiring seven runs from the final over, faced a setback with three consecutive wickets, including two run-outs on the fourth and fifth deliveries.

Rinku Singh, known for his prowess in chasing, ultimately secured the victory after Sean Abbott bowled a no-ball. Rinku’s six, although not counted, propelled India beyond their previous best chase of 208 against the West Indies in 2019.

“Very happy with the way the boys displayed the talent on the field. We were put under pressure, but the way everyone came back into the game, was great,” Suryakumar expressed of the win.

On his India leadership, Suryakumar responded, “I think it’s a proud moment, whenever you play cricket, you think of representing India, it will take some time to sink in but very proud.”

Suryakumar Yadav’s crucial 112-run partnership for the third wicket with Ishan Kishan, who scored a quick 58 off 39 balls, was pivotal as India recovered from the early loss of their openers at 22.

Notably, this match occurred only four days after Australia secured their record-extending sixth ODI World Cup title in the final against India.

Josh Inglis played really well, scoring 110 runs off 50 balls and helping Australia reach a total of 208-3, all while batting first on a good pitch.
