WATCH: Avesh Khan’s Playful Response To RCB Chants At Chinnaswamy Stadium Goes Viral

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans seem to still be fixated on Avesh Khan’s infamous helmet-throwing celebration during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and RCB. Following LSG’s narrow victory over RCB, Avesh had celebrated by smashing his helmet onto the ground in excitement.

This incident became a viral moment on social media, sparking debates and reactions from both fans and cricket experts. Now, even months later, the episode remains a topic of conversation. Recently, Avesh Khan was playing in a Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B in Bengaluru. While he was on the field, RCB fans started chanting “RCB-RCB” as a playful dig at him, referencing the IPL incident.

Rather than reacting negatively, Avesh showed great sportsmanship by engaging with the fans. He not only smiled and interacted with them but also encouraged them to increase the volume of their chants, turning the situation into a light-hearted moment. His response won him further appreciation from the audience, showing that he could handle the pressure and banter with ease.

Avesh Khan is currently eyeing a spot back in the Indian Test cricket team. Although he has not been a regular in red-ball cricket, he has been part of India’s broader selection radar. With Jasprit Bumrah expected to be rested for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) might be looking to bring in a few fresh faces for the squad.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the return of key pacer Mohammed Shami, Avesh’s name is likely to be in the mix for selection. However, Avesh is not the only pace bowler who has caught the attention of selectors during the Duleep Trophy matches. Other fast bowlers like Akash Deep and Khaleel Ahmed have also performed admirably in the tournament’s opening round.

With such impressive displays, these players are also in contention for a place in the Bangladesh series squad. The selectors now face the challenge of choosing from a pool of talented pacers, including Avesh Khan, for the upcoming Test matches.
