The Indian spinners have strengthened their grip over the England batsmen as Axar Patel picked up Moeen Ali to slump England further into danger in this Test match. After dismissing Joe Root as his first test wicket, the left-arm spinner dismissed Moeen Ali, who was England’s last recognised batsmen. Finally, Ashwin cleaned up Stuart Broad as England was bowled out for 134 in their first innings.

Axar Patel with his height was pegging away outside the off-stump channel for both the left and the right-handers. Some went on with the angle, while some turned from the same spot.

The ball which dismissed Moeen Ali had a little bit more bounce off the track as it took the edge of his bat and hit Pant’s pads to give some extra time for Ajinkya Rahane to complete a splendid catch.

It was Axar Patel who started the procession with the wicket of Root and it was his wicket of Ali, which almost culminated England’s innings.

India have opted to not enforce the follow-on and will be batting again. Currently, they are leading by 195 runs with over three day’s of cricket left in the Test match.
