Azam Khan is among the Pakistani players participating in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. The right-handed batsman is representing the Guyana Amazon Warriors. His campaign did not get off to a good start as he got out for 9 runs in the game against Antigua and Barbados Falcons.
Pakistan batsman Azam Khan fell after the ball hit him on his neck. The ball went on to hit the stumps and he was dismissed for 9 while playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League.
Everybody looked worried at how Azam was out. He could not play a pull shot and the ball hit him on the neck. Then the ball struck timbers, Azam tried to save himself, but could only manage 9 runs before being dismissed.
After being dismissed, the batsman took off his helmet and grabbed his neck with a visible sign of pain. The fielding side surrounded him with one of their players spotted asking if there was any physio who was available that help aid this player.

In terms of the match, Guyana managed to score 169 runs capitalizing on the last ball of their chase. The captain of the team, Imran Tahir needed 16 runs in that last over. Dwaine Pretorius did it perfectly by scoring 18 runs off Mohammad Amir’s bowling. He completed the chase with an additional six runs on the last delivery.
At this time, Guyana Amazon Warriors sit at number two on the points table having registered only one win. However, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have lost all their games so far are placed in the bottom-most position thereby being currently in a bad position.
On September 4th, they will play against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots next while Falcons will be playing against Barbados Royals on Sunday (September 1).
2024 fixtures of CPL
On August 29, the Caribbean Premier League started. On October 1, the eliminator will occur at Providence Stadium in Guyana. Two Qualifiers will take place on October 2 and 4, also in Guyana. The final match of this tournament is scheduled for October 6 at the same place.
Dwayne Bravo made a big announcement at the beginning of the tournament saying he will retire from the ongoing edition of the T20 league.
