Following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, fielding coach T Dilip of team India conducted the fielding ceremony, and it was finally a happy finish. As the Indian team became the world champions and wrote history, they were jubilant, joyful, and on their feet.
The Indian team’s dressing room exuded flawless energy as they were all thrilled with their victory. Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, was asked to present the fielding medal this time.
The medal for his “World Cup winning” catch in the last over was given to Suryakumar Yadav. The custom of Team India recognizing the finest fielding performance of the game was appropriately concluded.
Jay Shah gives best-fielder medal to Suryakumar Yadav:
Jay Shah awarded the best fielding prize to Suryakumar Yadav. One of the match’s most significant dismissals involved the star player. His awareness of the boundary rope and his athleticism were exceptional.
His catch put India one step away from a historic triumph. Surya did not say much after accepting the prize, but she did thank everyone and encouraged them to celebrate. In addition, he praised their fielding coach for preparing them for situations such as this.
11 years later, the Indian cricket team was able to bring home a T20 World Cup trophy for the second time.
They were the first team to win the prized title without being defeated and the first team to win the Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup, and ODI World Cup twice, which are all the white-ball ICC titles.
