[WATCH]- Ben Duckett Falls For 54 As Prasidh Strikes On Day 4 Of Final Test

Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna struck a key blow by dismissing the well-set Ben Duckett on Day 4 of the fifth Test at The Oval, Sunday, August 3. Duckett scored 54 off 83 deliveries, hitting six fours, before falling to Krishna and leaving England at 82/2 with both openers dismissed.

The breakthrough came in the 23rd over of England’s chase when Krishna delivered a fuller ball outside off. Duckett committed to the drive, but the ball took a thick edge and flew to KL Rahul at second slip. Rahul held on to a sharp catch as wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel embraced him, with the Indian players erupting in celebration.

Siraj and Prasidh remove England openers in 374-run chase

Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna delivered a sharp bowling performance, removing Zak Crawley (14) and Ben Duckett during England’s 374-run chase. Siraj dismissed Crawley with the final ball of Day 3. At the latest update, England stood at 87/2, with Ollie Pope and Joe Root at the crease.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 224 in their first innings, with Gus Atkinson claiming five wickets. England replied with 247, securing a 23-run lead, as both Siraj and Krishna took four wickets each. India bounced back in the second innings, posting 396.

Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with a fluent 118 off 164 balls, while nightwatchman Akash Deep contributed a crucial 66 off 94 deliveries. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar scored fifties in India’s second innings, while Josh Tongue claimed a five-wicket haul.

Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton also chipped in with three and two wickets, respectively. India, trailing 1-2 in the five-match series, must win the final Test to level the series. England won the first and third Tests at Headingley and Lord’s, while the fourth Test in Manchester ended in a draw.
