England skipper Ben Stokes showcased his bowling brilliance once again, picking up a five-wicket haul on Day 2 of the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford, Manchester. He dismissed debutant Anshul Kamboj for a duck to register his first Test fifer since September 2017.
Stokes had made an early impact on Day 1, removing Indian captain Shubman Gill for 12 and then B Sai Sudharsan for 58. He continued his fine form on Day 2, claiming the wickets of Shardul Thakur (41) and Washington Sundar (27) in the morning session.
Anshul Kamboj was Ben Stokes’ fifth victim, edging a delivery outside off-stump to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith in the 110th over. With this performance, Stokes has now become the leading wicket-taker in the series, with a tally of 16 wickets. You can watch the video here:

Stokes delivered a gutsy all-round performance in the previous Test against India at Lord’s. He scored a valuable 77 runs and claimed five wickets across both innings, playing a crucial role in England’s 22-run victory over India on Day 5 of a closely contested match.
Lower Order Stand Helps India Reach Competitive Total Against England
India, who resumed Day 2 at 264/4, quickly slipped to 266/5 as Jofra Archer struck in his very first over, dismissing Ravindra Jadeja for 20. With momentum on their side, England looked to capitalise, but Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar steadied the innings with a crucial 48-run stand.
After Thakur’s dismissal, Rishabh Pant came out to bat despite a fractured toe sustained on Day 1 — a bold and brave decision. Pant went on to score 54, and contributions from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj helped push India’s total to 358. With a solid first-innings total on the board, India will now aim to build a significant lead and seize control of the match.
