White ball captain Rohit Sharma was heard giving teammate Yuzvendra Chahal a mouthful during the 2nd ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The men in blues prevailed over the visitors to wrap up the series with one match to go.

Meanwhile, the stump mic in the ongoing series has been loud enough for the viewers sitting at the home and watching the games to be able to catch what is being said on the field by the players. While Rishabh Pant was at his best chirping around, Rohit Sharma was heard scolding Yuzvendra Chahal.

Before the start of the 45th over of the West Indies innings, the Indian captain was setting the field and sounded unhappy with Chahal’s running speed. He asked him what happened and why he wasn’t sprinting towards his field position properly?

“Kya hua terko? Bhaag kyun nahi raha hai theek se? Chal udhar bhaag (What happened to you? Why are you not running properly? Go and field there [long-off]),” Rohit was heard saying on the stump mic.

The video has gone viral on social media and has been shared multiple times by fans. Incidentally, Rohit Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal share a great rapport with each other.

Speaking of the game, India posted 237 runs on the board after being asked to bat first. The hosts were reduced to 43/3 within 12 overs before KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav shared a 91-run stand to revive the innings.

However, West Indies pegged back towards the end of the innings but a late blitz from Deepak Hooda helped India cross the 200-run mark.

In reply, West Indies struggled and were reduced to 66/4 after Prasidh Krishna wreaked havoc with the new ball. The game boiled down well after the hard-hitting all-rounder Odean Smith had made the game interesting with two lusty blows off Shardul Thakur.

Washington Sundar finally put curtains to Odean’s cracking innings before Prasidh came back to wrap up the innings.

With 2-0 ahead in the series, the third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to take place on Friday in Ahmedabad.
