After being dismissed by the off-spinner in the Big Bash League eliminator on Friday, Brisbane Heat’s Matt Renshaw had a few choice words for Sydney Thunder captain Chris Green. The incident occurred in the 19th over of the match, when Green bowled the menacing Renshaw, who was in top form on the day and striking the ball with abandon.

The Thunder had won the day’s bat flip and elected to bowl first. However, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne demonstrated that the decision was a blunder by being harsh on the Sydney outfit. After losing Josh Brown early in the innings, Khawaja and Labuschange put on a 128-run partnership as they took on the bowling and played some delightful shots.

Khawaja scored 94 runs off 55 balls before he was dismissed by Ben Cutting. Labuschagne scored his maiden half-century and ended up with 73 runs off just 48 deliveries.

This brought Renshaw to the crease, and he began teeing off right away, as the Heat were looking for a big score. The Southpaw scored 24 points on just eight balls, with three huge sixes and one boundary.

Renshaw scored all of his runs in an over against Usman Qadir, taking the leg spinner to the cleaners with his incredible hitting. The southpaw’s innings would end in the over against Green, who bowled him as the Heat batter attempted a reverse sweep.

The Thunder captain was overjoyed with the wicket and displayed some emotion, which irritated Renshaw. While walking back, the Brisbane Heat star exchanged a few words with Green. Thunder’s captain had a smile on his face.

Chris Green and Matt Renshaw get involved in a verbal battle:

The Heat reached 203 for five in their 20 overs, while the Thunder scored 52 runs, with David Warner scoring 36 of them. However, rain forced the game to be called off, and The Heat went on to win the match by eight runs. They will play the Melbourne Renegades next.
