Crowd Chants The first One Day International match between India and New Zealand was a high-scoring affair at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. India won the match by just 12 runs played on 18 January 2023. After opting to bat first, the Indian team posted a massive total of 349 for 7 in 50 overs. Shubman Gill played a brilliant knock with 208 off 149 balls with 19 fours and 9 sixes. He provided a dominating display of batting on a placid batting pitch. Rohit Sharma was the other top scorer with 34 runs.
During the 2nd innings, the crowd chanted Sara-Sara while Shubman Gill reacted to the situation by giving a smile. He has been in sensational form of late during the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. The Indian team provided a great display of cricket whitewashing Sri Lanka 3-0 with a record-breaking 317-run win in the 3rd ODI match at Trivandrum.
Shubman Gill showed his class with a quickfire of 70 runs in the first ODI match played in Guhwati and then scored his 3rd ODI century in the 3rd ODI. His ability to play attacking shots makes him a special player.

Gill attacked the New Zealand bowlers right from the word go.
India looked for a big win as they reduced New Zealand to 131 for 6. Mitchell Santer and Michael Bracewell produced a stunning 162 runs partnership for the 7th wicket. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of bowlers for India with 4 for 46. Shardul Thakur held his nerves to nail the yorker helping Team India register a 12-run win giving the host a 1-0 lead. For his brilliant knock, Gill was named the player of the match award.
Shubman Gill made his debut in ODI cricket last year and showed his class since then. He would be looking to continue during the 2 remaining matches to be played on 21 January in Raipur and then 24 January in Indore Crowd Chants.
