New Zealand batter Darly Mitchell continued his batting form in the second test match against England on Friday at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. During his knock, one of his sixes landed inside a fan’s beer glass in the stands.

The incident took place in the 50th over when Jack Leach came to bowl. Daryl Mitchell had played around 40 deliveries and was looking settled at the crease. On the second delivery, he danced down the track and hit a six through the mid-wicket region. However, the six landed straight into a fan’s beer glass.

The video of the incident was shared by England Cricket on their Instagram profile. Captioning the post, they wrote, “New drink please 😂 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #engvnz 🇳🇿 #englandcricket.”

New Zealand end day one on a strong note

After a disappointing loss in the first test match at the Lord’s, the New Zealand cricket team has made a good start to the second test match. They finished day one on a strong note, scoring 318 runs at the loss of four wickets. Ben Stokes and James Anderson picked two wickets each for England.

Earlier in the day, England skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. The visitors are without their captain Kane Williamson, who tested positive for the covid-19 virus. In his absence, Tom Latham has taken up the leadership responsibilities.

New Zealand batters Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell will resume the batting on day two at Trent Bridge. Daryl Mitchell is unbeaten on 81 runs, while Tom Blundell has scored 67 runs.
