Fans from both contingents had a great time at the Sydney Cricket Ground as they return to stadiums after a couple of months owning to COVID-19 pandemic. Australian star batsman David Warner was seen giving full entertainment to the fans with his Butta Bomma dance performance.
Meanwhile, there wasn’t much to cheer for the Indians as the hosts completely dominated the proceedings. Batting first, David Warner and Aaron Finch got the hosts off to a superb start as they added 156 runs for the opening wicket. Warner departed for 69 but the Australian skipper carried on and notched up his 17th ODI ton in the process.
Glenn Maxwell was at his best, playing a handy cameo of 45, but it was Steve Smith who stole the show in the series opener. Initially, he toyed with the field and once he notched up his fifty, he got the big sixes as well, eventually bringing up a superlative century to propel Australia to 375.

India made good progress in the run chase but Australia soon pegged back to have the visitors at 101 for four thanks to Josh Hazlewood well-time bouncers. Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya gave India hope in an improbable chase. They put on 146 and caused a bit of a flutter. But then Adam Zampa put his hand up and bowled a match-winning spell, taking out both Dhawan and Pandya and winning the game for his side.
David Warner entertains with Butta Bomma dance
Although there wasn’t much for the Indians fans to cheer about, David Warner ensured he leaves no stones unturned to entertain the fans. While fielding near the boundary, Warner gave the fans a pleasant surprise by doing some steps of the famous Telugu song ‘Butta Bomma’.

Meanwhile, it was not the first time, Warner has shaken his legs in this song. Earlier this year, he took the internet by storm with his performance on this song with his wife. Later, David Warner had performed the same dance number when Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the playoffs by beating Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020.
