[WATCH] Deepak Chahar Touches MS Dhoni’s Feet, Gets Playfully Scolded Before MI vs CSK Clash

Mumbai Indians fast bowler Deepak Chahar shared a sweet moment with former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni during a practice session. Chahar touched Dhoni’s feet at Wankhede Stadium, showing respect and their close bond, even though they now play for rival teams.

Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings in a big clash on Thursday at the same venue. Both teams have had a similar season so far, placed seventh and eighth with two wins and four losses each. This match will be their 40th meeting in Indian Premier League history.

Heartwarming Moment as Deepak Chahar Greets MS Dhoni with Respect

Deepak Chahar has often said that MS Dhoni played a big role in shaping his career during their time at CSK. In a recent practice session, the Mumbai Indians bowler went up to Dhoni for a casual chat, but Dhoni quickly noticed that a social media team was recording them nearby.

Showing his usual sense of humor, Dhoni pointed at the camera and jokingly told the cameraman to move away. He said that if they kept filming, they wouldn’t be able to have a proper private conversation.

“Tum aaya, saath mein camera leke aaya… bhagao isko (You came along with a camera… get him out of here.),” Dhoni quipped.

“Arey yaar bhaiya, jao aap (Come on, brother, please go.),” Chahar playfully responded to the cameraman.

“Haan, warna baat nhi kar paenge  ( Yes otherwise we won’t be able to talk.),” Dhoni added with bright smile.

CSK Look to MS Dhoni as Ruturaj Gaikwad Struggles with Form

Chennai Super Kings badly need MS Dhoni back on the field. He missed the first six matches because of a calf injury before the season started. In the 2025 season, Dhoni scored runs at an average of 24.50 with a strike rate of 135.17 in 14 matches.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been struggling with both batting and leadership. He has scored just 82 runs so far, averaging 13.66 with a strike rate of 112.32, and hasn’t crossed 30 in any of his six innings in Indian Premier League 2026.

His record as captain has also not been great since taking over before the 2024 season. He has won only 10 out of 25 matches as CSK captain, which is putting extra pressure on the team ahead of this important game.
