UP Warriorz skipper Deepti Sharma bowled out her RCB counterpart Smriti Mandhana during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, February 24. Mandhana managed only six runs off nine deliveries before being dismissed, leaving the hosts at 23/1.
This marked the third time Deepti had taken Mandhana’s wicket, with one dismissal in each of the first three WPL seasons. The breakthrough came in the fourth over of RCB’s innings. Deepti delivered a length ball on middle and off stump, and Mandhana attempted a cut shot despite the lack of room.
She ended up inside-edging the ball onto her off stump. Deepti, delighted with the key wicket, celebrated with her teammates. Posting the video on X, the official WPL handle captioned:

Perry & Wyatt steady RCB after Mandhana’s early exit
Ellyse Perry and Danni Wyatt have stabilized RCB’s innings after Smriti Mandhana’s early dismissal against UPW in Bengaluru. As of now, RCB stand at 67/1 after 10 overs, with Wyatt on 24 and Perry on 35. Bengaluru currently lead the WPL 2025 points table with two wins from three matches.
They started their campaign with victories over Gujarat Giants (GG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) by six and eight wickets, respectively. However, RCB suffered a four-wicket defeat to inaugural champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in their last match.
Meanwhile, UPW bounced back after consecutive losses to GG and DC by six and seven wickets, respectively. They avenged their defeat against the Capitals with a 33-run win, climbing to fourth in the standings. The Deepti Sharma-led side will aim to build on their momentum and extend their winning run.
