7th July a day that is remembered by all the Indian fans. It is the birthday of our beloved MS Dhoni. Interestingly it also happens to be the birthday of young opener Devdutt Padikkal. The former Indian captain celebrated his 40th birthday today. The Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka gearing up for a limited-overs series which starts on 13th July.
The team got together to celebrate the 21st birthday of the youngster. There was a cake-cutting ceremony that was joined by all his teammates. The youngster was extremely happy but before he cut the cake he made sure that he wished the former wicket-keeper batsman on his birthday.
MS Dhoni who retired from international cricket last year is still loved by everyone from around the world. Wishes were pouring in on his birthday since morning and Devdutt Padikkal had a heartfelt message for him. This gesture has shown how much MS Dhoni is loved by his fans and his teammates. He has been an inspiration for millions of youngsters around the world.
BCCI posted a video of the celebration. Devdutt Paddikal requested them to stop singing and said:
“Before I cut the cake, I would like to wish Mahi bhai on behalf of the entire team. He has been an inspiration for all of us, and to share a birthday with him is a great feeling. So, happy birthday to Mahi bhai.”

Devdutt Padikkal looking forward to his debut
Devdutt Padikkal will be a part of the upcoming limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. The Shikhar Dhawan-led side will play their first ODI on 13th July. This young Indian team will be coached by Rahul Dravid.
This is a young Indian team and everyone will be looking to do well in this series. They would want to impress the management and seal a spot in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
