Prithvi Shaw’s return to Indian domestic cricket began in a dismal manner on Day 1 of the Irani Cup 2024 at Lucknow. His innings were cut short when Devdutt Padikkal made a superb catch at second slip, eliminating Shaw for only four runs. The catch, a searing edge, showcased Padikkal’s remarkable fielding ability.

Shaw’s early expulsion represented a disappointing comeback, as he had hoped for a more promising start to his domestic season. On Tuesday, October 1, Padikkal’s blinder set the tone for an exciting match in the stadium. Shaw’s limited spell at the crease will put additional pressure on the rest of the batting lineup to produce.

Mumbai is struggling a lot with the first session of the Irani Cup 2024, but Rest of India’s Devdutt Padikkal pulled off a stunning catch of Prithvi Shaw. Reserve outfielder Devdutt Padikkal was stationed at the second slip off Mukesh Kumar’s delivery when Prithvi Shaw attempted a shot, took an outside edge, and Padikkal leapt to his right to grab an excellent catch.

At the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the defending champions of the Ranji Trophy are facing trouble as the rest of India have already dismissed Prithvi Shaw, Ayush Mharte, and Hardik Tamore from the game.

So far, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s trio of Prasidh Krishna, Yash Dayal, and Mukesh Kumar has done quite well to restrict the scoring opportunities for the batters from Mumbai.
