Veteran India player Dinesh Karthik found himself in a humorous situation as he stood between Shaheen Afridi and Stuart Broad, both towering over him. After Shaheen’s impressive start in ‘The Hundred,’ where he took two wickets off his first two balls, he engaged in a conversation with Broad and Karthik.
Karthik, being the shortest among them, jokingly referenced England cricketer Ben Duckett’s height as he stood next to taller players during the national anthems.
During their discussion, Broad inquired about Shaheen’s successful transition from red-ball to white-ball formats. Shaheen Shah Afridi attributed his success to the experience gained from bowling more overs in Test cricket, which helped him perform well in white-ball cricket too.
A very candid chat from @iShaheenAfridi alongside @DineshKarthik and the great @StuartBroad8. Shaheen so rightly says about bowling longer spells in Test match cricket makes bowling in shorter formats easier.

He mentioned observing Broad and Anderson’s techniques during Test matches. He made an exclusive statement “It’s not easy, Tests is totally different. I think, bowling more overs in Test cricket is really helpful in white-ball cricket too. That’s is the reason for my success. When I started playing Tests, I used to watch you and Anderson on how to bowl in that format,”
“Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of my favourite bowlers to watch in the world. He has got such a great presence about him when he runs in, and I love bowlers run in with energy and vibrancy to their run up,” the 167-Test veteran said in the interaction.”
Stuart Broad, who had recently retired from Test cricket, reflected on his final moments in the game, including taking the match-winning wicket in the Ashes Test and hitting a six in his last Test delivery.
Meanwhile, Shaheen is set to return to action for Pakistan in the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup. He continues to make an impact across formats with his impressive performances.
