[WATCH]- Ex-MI All-rounder Smashes 900th T20 Six In ILT20 2025, Becomes Second To Reach Milestone

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard smashed his 900th T20 six during the ILT20 2025 clash between MI Emirates and Desert Vipers in Dubai. With this feat, Pollard became only the second player in T20 history, after Chris Gayle, to achieve this milestone.

Gayle leads the all-time six-hitting chart with 1,056 sixes in 463 T20 matches, a record far ahead of any other player. Pollard reached the 900-mark during his explosive 23-ball 36 for the Emirates, hitting his second six of the innings to achieve the milestone. He went on to hit three sixes in total before being dismissed by Lockie Ferguson.

Pollard’s heroics powered the MI Emirates to a competitive total of 159/6 in their 20 overs. Kusal Perera provided a solid start with a 29-ball 33, including five boundaries, but the middle order struggled, with Muhammad Waseem (18), Tom Banton (15), and Nicholas Pooran (15) failing to make significant contributions.

Romario Shepherd added a late flourish, remaining unbeaten on 16 off eight balls. For the Vipers, Lockie Ferguson stood out with impressive figures of 4-0-25-2, while David Payne, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Dan Lawrence chipped in with a wicket each.

MI Emirates enter ILT20 2025 as the defending champions

MI Emirates clinched the 2023/24 ILT20 title with a 45-run victory over the Dubai Capitals in the final. Nicholas Pooran, who led the team to that triumph, continues as captain, aiming to guide them to a second consecutive title.

The MI Emirates currently sit second on the points table with a mixed start to the season. They suffered a narrow one-run loss to the Capitals in their season opener but bounced back strongly to secure their first win of the season by defeating them in the reverse fixture.

Meanwhile, the Vipers lead the standings after impressive victories over the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Gulf Giants, showcasing their dominance in the early stages of the tournament.
