Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh shared in the video:
“It’s nice to see familiar faces when you’re in a foreign country—it makes the experience more enjoyable.”
Jagjit recalled, “It didn’t feel like I’d been away from them for long. As soon as I arrived, everyone reacted with surprise and excitement.”
He further explained, “I play first-class cricket for Chandigarh. I came to Birmingham to play cricket, and after learning about Team India’s training venue, I joined the squad as a net bowler.”
Who Is Jagjit Singh Sandhu?
Jagjit shared that he has known several members of the Indian team from earlier stages in their careers.
“I played One Day matches in the Under-19 Zone with Rishabh Pant. When I was in my final U-19 season, it was Shubman Gill’s first. I’ve played alongside Akash Deep in the Delhi Cup and faced Washington Sundar during U-19 zonal matches—he represented the South Zone while I was part of the North Zone. Arshdeep is younger than me; I was 19 when he was just 16,” he said.
Who Is Harpreet Brar?
Harpreet Brar shared that his wife is from Swindon, which is near Birmingham, and it was Shubman Gill who invited him to join the training session.
“My wife’s from Swindon, which is just about an hour to an hour and a half away from Birmingham. I was chatting with Shubman, and he messaged me yesterday. So I said, ‘Alright, let’s go and get some practice in,’” Harpreet said.
