[WATCH]- Fan Arrested And Assaulted By PCB Security For Waving Indian Flag In Lahore

A shocking incident occurred during the England-Australia match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, exposing Pakistan in a controversial light. This time, it wasn’t the fans but the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) security personnel who crossed the line.

India and Pakistan share a complex history marked by conflicts, border disputes, and political tensions. While efforts have been made to improve relations, ongoing security concerns and cross-border issues have hindered progress.

Cricket has long been affected by these strained ties, with the two nations only facing off in multi-nation tournaments. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was no exception, as the BCCI refused to send Team India to Pakistan due to security concerns, leading to intense drama before the event.

Due to security concerns, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to relocate India’s matches to Dubai. The latest incident further justified the Indian government’s decision to deny clearance for Team India to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

PCB security criticized for arresting fan over Indian flag in Lahore

Shocking scenes unfolded at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 group match between Australia and England on February 22. A viral video showed Pakistani security personnel arresting and roughing up a fan for waving the Indian flag.

Reports suggest the fan was also beaten for displaying the flag, sparking outrage on social media. The incident reinforced the BCCI’s decision to keep the Indian team out of Pakistan and raised further concerns about security and intent.

The PCB has yet to respond, and it remains to be seen how they and the ICC justify the security personnel’s actions. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s back-to-back losses in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 ended their semi-final hopes after New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in Rawalpindi.
