An unusual request from a fan to Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has been made during the first Test against New Zealand being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. One of the enthusiastic supporters said loudly, “Rohit, please join RCB in IPL 2025.” This statement caused some laughter and attention from the public.

The incidents portrayed by the fan still epitomize the passion and obsession of IPL followers most especially those who support RCB. Rohit now captains the Mumbai Indians an organization that he joined in 2013. What Rohit’s reaction to the petition was is not known, but the episode has been viewed by fans of cricket.

In a viral video, a fan can be heard asking Rohit Sharma, “Bhai, IPL mein kaun sa team (which team in IPL)?”

Rohit Sharma responded with, “Kaunsa chahiye bol”.

“Bhai RCB Ajao Yaar,” the supporter responded. Rohit Sharma did not pause and proceeded into the pavilion.

Rohit Sharma will continue with Mumbai Indians: Reports

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 retention list is highly anticipated, particularly given the approaching mega auction. Rohit Sharma’s future with the Mumbai Indians, the team he guided to five IPL victories, is a topic of speculation. Last year’s captaincy shift, which saw Hardik Pandya take over, heightened anxiety.

According to an Indian Express story, the Mumbai Indians are set to keep Rohit Sharma and three other great cricketers. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav are expected to be retained alongside Rohit, according to the article.

This decision would keep the team’s core together while also providing stability ahead of the mega auction. Retaining these key players would be a sensible move, harnessing their experience and talent to establish a solid basis for the 2025 season.

India Performance on Day 4:

Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant, who bat first and second, respectively, displayed a combination of bravery and tenacity on the fourth day of the first Test. The pair managed to reach an unrestrained partnership of 133 runs for the fourth wicket, despite the New Zealand pacers’ inability to take advantage of the cloudy circumstances.

However, heavy showers prompted them to eat lunch early. With Sarfaraz smashing a century and Pant hitting fifty, India managed to close the gap on the Kiwis’ massive advantage to just twelve runs, sending joy through the Indian camp.
