[WATCH]: “Garden Me Ghumo Mat” – Rohit Sharma’s Lighthearted Chat With Teammates Goes Viral

India captain Rohit Sharma was in high spirits during a playful interaction with his Mumbai Indians (MI) teammates before their match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

In a video posted by MI on Instagram, the players participated in an alphabet game, during which Rohit recalled an iconic one-liner from the recently concluded Test series against England.

“Garden me ghumo mat.” (Don’t walk in the garden.)

In his professional cricket endeavors, Rohit has accumulated 156 runs in five matches this season, boasting a strike rate of 167.74. In his most recent match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the right-hander scored 38 runs from 24 balls.

Now, the 36-year-old aims to maintain his batting prowess as he prepares for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The ICC tournament is set to occur in June across the United States of America and the West Indies. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already confirmed Rohit’s captaincy for Team India ahead of this significant event.

“I see him in Chennai” -Michael Vaughan anticipates that Rohit Sharma will captain CSK in IPL 2025

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has forecasted that Rohit Sharma, who has won the IPL five times as captain, will join the Super Kings and take over the leadership from Ruturaj Gaikwad in the upcoming IPL season.

In an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia on YouTube, Vaughan expressed his opinion (as reported by India Today):

“I think he will go to Chennai, replace MS Dhoni. Gaikwad is doing it this year. Do you think it’s just a holding job? Maybe Rohit next year?”

He added:

“I see him in Chennai. I seem him there. If he were to captain Chennai and came to Mumbai, will he get booed?”

For those unaware, MS Dhoni, who guided CSK to their fifth IPL title last year, stepped down from captaincy in what is speculated to be his final season in the T20 tournament.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya took over as MI captain after moving from Gujarat Titans (GT) in a trade deal. The all-rounder suffered three consecutive losses in his initial three matches as skipper but led the team to back-to-back victories against Delhi Capitals and RCB.
