[WATCH]- Gautam Gambhir Smiles Broadly As Rinku Singh Claims His First T20I Wicket

As Rinku Singh took his first T20I wicket in the third and final match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, July 30, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir was filled with joy. This was precisely when Rinku sent Kusal Perera into a hasty retreat after he had been batting fluidly for quite some time, thus giving India an opportunity to come back into the match.

In the 19th over of Sri Lanka’s run chase, the dismissal happened. Rinku bowled a short ball and Perera mistimed his pull shot which gave a top edge. Rinku moved toward off-side to catch it back in a catch and bowled. That left Perera at 46 from 34 balls while nine runs were needed from ten balls by the hosts.

In the penultimate over, Rinku Singh also dismissed Ramesh Mendis to have remarkable stats of 2/3 in just a single over played during this match.
