[WATCH]- Gautam Gambhir, Sunil Narine ‘Lift Each Other’ After KKR’s IPL 2024 Win Over SRH

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Sunil Narine expressed his delight over his team’s IPL 2024 final victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 26. Narine was seen lifting the team’s mentor Gautam Gambhir in celebration, who reciprocated the gesture.

Hyderabad was bowled out for a meagre 113 after opting to bat first in the final. Kolkata easily chased down the target in just 10.3 overs, securing an eight-wicket win. Venkatesh Iyer scored an unbeaten 52 off 26 balls.

After the IPL 2024 victory, Narine and Gambhir embraced and lifted each other in joy.

Sunil Narine was a key player for KKR this season, scoring 488 runs in 14 innings with an average of 34.85 and a strike rate of 180.74, making him the team’s top run-scorer. Additionally, he excelled with the ball, taking 17 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 6.69.

Hyderabad’s batting lineup faltered in the crucial match, with only Pat Cummins and Aiden Markram managing to surpass the 20-run mark, scoring 26 and 20 runs respectively. The rest of the team failed to make significant contributions, leading to a disappointing performance.

In Kolkata’s bowling effort, each of the six bowlers contributed with at least one wicket. Andre Russell led with three dismissals, while Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc claimed two each. Sunil Narine had an impressive bowling performance, conceding only 16 runs from his full quota of four overs and grabbing a wicket.

However, his batting innings was short-lived, getting out after hitting a brilliant six off Pat Cummins’ delivery. This marked KKR’s third IPL title, following victories in 2012 and 2013. It’s noteworthy that Narine played a crucial role in Kolkata’s lineup in all three championship wins.
