[WATCH] Gautam Gambhir Visits Khatu Shyam Temple In Sikar, Rajasthan

Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir visited the Khatu Shyam temple in Sikar, Rajasthan, on Friday (June 7) to seek blessings. The Kolkata Knight Riders mentor was spotted performing rituals at the sacred site, wearing a blue T-shirt. Gambhir often prays at various ancient temples across India. Recently, during the IPL 2024 season, he visited the Kalighat temple in Kolkata and the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.

Gambhir played a crucial role in reviving the KKR’s fortunes. Under his mentorship, KKR secured their third IPL trophy after a decade-long wait. This season, they defeated the SunRisers Hyderabad three times, including in the Qualifier 1 and the final, to become the new champions.

Gambhir, as a player, had previously led KKR to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. Now 42 years old, Gambhir was also part of India’s victorious teams in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.

Lalchand Rajput Endorses Gautam Gambhir as Potential Replacement for Rahul Dravid as India’s Head Coach

Former India coach Lalchand Rajput has recently suggested that Gambhir could replace Rahul Dravid as India’s head coach. Rajput, who coached India during the 2007 T20 World Cup, expressed his support for Gambhir’s potential appointment in an interview with PTI.

“Gambhir is a no-nonsense guy, he has played cricket the hard way and he reads the game well and that has been seen for KKR as well. KKR was the same team last year and you see the difference that he made this year. He is a shrewd tactician as well. I am sure with all his experience he has won two World Cup (wins) as a player that will really add value.”

“He is a good candidate, but it all depends upon BCCI who they want. He will be the right candidate to take Indian cricket forward, there is no bigger honor than coaching your national team. You are representing 140 crore Indians and those across the globe as well.”
