India and England are facing each other in the ongoing fifth Test match at Edgbaston.  The match has reached an interesting stage with England requiring 119 runs and 7 wickets in hand. Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root, both of them are batting on a score of 70 plus. It would be a tough task for the Indian team to win the match from here.

The test match so far has witnessed several heated moments with a lot of verbal battles. Stuart Broad too was involved in a verbal spat with the umpire Richard Kettleborough.  When Broad came to bat on the 3rd day of the test match , he was seen constantly chirping something during his stay at the crease.

Umpire Richard Kettleborough didn’t like it and told Broad to stay quiet and focus on batting. Richard Kettleborough said: “Let us do the umpiring and you do the batting, alright? Otherwise, you are going to get into trouble again. One for the over. Broady! Broady! Get on with the batting and shut up.”

Stuart Broad was dismissed on a score of 1 run in the first innings. England would hope for a better contribution with the bat from Broad in the second innings in case the match reaches till that situation. Broad couldn’t create his impact with the ball in this test match. He picked up just 3 wickets in the whole test match.

“I am looking to take the game forward”- Jonny Bairstow on his approach while batting

While chasing the target of 378 runs set by the Indian team, England got a great start from their openers. They added 107 runs for the first wicket. But India made a great comeback by picking 3 wickets in a span of 4 overs. Since then, Root and Bairstow have made a brilliant comeback and taken England closer to victory.

Jonny Bairstow has been the star for England in this test match. He has played with an attacking approach. Talking about his style of play, Bairstow in a press conference said: “We know this is going to be day four and day five pitches that we’re going to be playing on. That’s okay. And yeah, we’ll be going about it in the same manner. And I’m looking to take the game forward.”
