Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently facing each other in Match 67 of IPL 2022. GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bat first. Both the teams made one change each in their respective Playing XIs. For GT, Lockie Ferguson came in place of Alzarri Joseph and for RCB, Mohammed Siraj made way for Siddarth Kaul.

The Titans got off to a flying start as Wriddhiman Saha smashed four boundaries in the first two overs to take Gujarat’s score to 20-0. In the third over, RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood bowled a good length delivery to Shubman Gill. The batter edged the outswinging ball as he tried to defend it away from his body.

Glenn Maxwell, standing at the slips dived full length to his right to pluck a one-handed screamer. Shubman Gill had to depart after scoring 1 run in 4 balls. Sunil Gavaskar in the commentary box lauded RCB skipper Faf du Plessis for the perfect field placement.

It’s a shame that we are not in the top-two- Glenn Maxwell

Ahead of the game, Glenn Maxwell shared his experience of spending time in the RCB dressing room. The all-rounder stated that the team has performed really well in IPL 2022 and it’s unfortunate that they are not in the top 2 of the Points table.

Maxwell said: “RCB is a great place to play. The memory of the guys that have played in the franchise is really key to know who’s set the foundations for every little thing that’s happened. We are a very professional outfit. For the first time in a long time, it feels like we’ve got a lot of bases covered, there’s no real weakness. It’s a shame that we are not in the top-two but we feel like we’ve had a really good season.”
