[WATCH]- Hardik Pandya Drops His Bat But Still Scores A Four In The 2024 1st T20I Against Bangladesh

Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya lost control of his bat during his innings against Bangladesh in the first T20I in Gwalior. Despite this mishap, he still managed to hit a boundary, and a video of the moment is going viral on social media.

The Men in Blue won the match by seven wickets at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 6. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, India restricted Bangladesh to 127 in 19.5 overs and chased down the target in just 11.5 overs.

Pandya was the top scorer for India in the chase, finishing with an explosive 39* off 16 balls, which included five fours and two sixes. One of his boundaries came when he lost his bat while attempting to hit a full toss from Taskin Ahmed; the bat flew toward square leg, but the ball went past backward point and crossed the boundary.

On the previous delivery, the unconventional right-handed batter executed a no-look ramp shot over the keeper for four, a clip of which also went viral on social media. Fittingly, Pandya capped off the innings in style, hitting a six over midwicket on the penultimate ball of the same over.

Hardik Pandya formed an unbeaten 52-run partnership with debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy

Pandya and debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy formed an unbeaten 52-run partnership for the fourth wicket in the first T20I in Gwalior, leading the Men in Blue to victory. Pandya showcased his clean hitting, while Reddy contributed a solid 16* off 15 balls, including one six.

Earlier, India began their chase of 128 with a strong start. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma put on 25 runs quickly before Abhishek was run out for 16 off seven after a mix-up with his opening partner.

Samson (29 off 19) and captain Suryakumar Yadav (29 off 14) added 40 runs for the second wicket. Samson hit six fours, while Surya scored with two fours and three sixes. Both set batters were dismissed while trying to play aggressive shots, allowing Pandya to finish the chase alongside Reddy.
