[WATCH] Hardik Pandya Pulls Off Incredible Run Out To Send Andre Russell In

In Kolkata Knight Riders’ current IPL 2024 match against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, explosive West Indies batsman Andre Russell faced a dismal performance. Batting at number eight, Russell started with a remarkable uppercut off Hardik Pandya’s delivery.

However, his innings were short-lived as he was run out in unfortunate circumstances just as he was gaining momentum. During the 17th over of KKR’s innings, the incident unfolded as Russell entered the field after Manish Pandey’s dismissal. Despite removing Pandey, MI captain Hardik Pandya was struggling with his bowling, giving away two sixes from his first five deliveries.

To end the over positively, Pandya delivered a yorker, resulting in Venkatesh Iyer attempting a reverse sweep but only managing to hit it straight to the short third-man fielder.

However, Russell spotted a chance for a quick single and immediately called Iyer for a risky run. Ideally, Iyer should have sprinted to the non-striker’s end as Russell ran towards the dangerous end. Instead, the aggressive left-hander kept his focus on the ball, resulting in a dreadful misunderstanding.

The third man fielder seized the opportunity, throwing the ball directly to Pandya, who did a graceful movement to dislodge the bails before Russell could return to the non-striker’s end.

Andre Russell came in, and Pandya delivered a short ball outside the off stump. The West Indian cricketer created space and executed a cut shot, sending the ball soaring over deep backward point for a maximum.

However, in the same over, Russell was dismissed for 7 runs after facing only two balls due to a significant miscommunication with Venkatesh Iyer, resulting in a run-out.
