Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya recreated his signature pose during a press conference on Wednesday, March 19, ahead of IPL 2025. The all-rounder raised both hands with his trademark smile as journalists and photographers cheered. The franchise later shared a video of the moment on their social media platforms.
The Baroda-born cricketer has frequently struck this pose in recent times, notably during the T20 World Cup 2024 after taking wickets. He also celebrated in the same style after Indiaβs victories in the T20 World Cup last year and the Champions Trophy this year, posing with both trophies. Fans can expect to see more of it in the upcoming IPL season.

Despite MIβs poor IPL 2024 campaign, Hardik Pandya stays as captain for 2025. He faced heavy backlash after replacing Rohit Sharma, affecting team performance. Mahela Jayawardene returns as coach, replacing Mark Boucher.
Hardik Pandya set to miss the opening match
Hardik Pandya will miss Mumbai Indiansβ IPL 2025 opener against CSK on March 24 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium due to a one-match ban for a slow over-rate in MIβs final game of IPL 2024. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in his absence. Pandya commented on this, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:
βThat is out of my control. Last year what occurred is part of the sport. We bowled the last over one-and-a-half or two minutes late. At that point I didnβt know the consequences, It is unfortunate, but the rules say it. I will have to go with the process.β
βNext season, if they continue or not continue [with this rule], I think that is on the higher authorities. They can definitely see what best can be done. Surya, obviously, leads India [in T20Is] as well. When Iβm not there, he is the ideal choice in this format.β
