Tempers flared as Rajasthan Royals (RR) prevailed over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 29 runs and continued their merry run in the ongoing IPL 2022. However, unavoidable scenes emerged at the end of the game when Harshal Patel refused to shake hands with Riyan Parag, which grabbed eyeballs.

Incidentally, Harshal and Parag had a heated exchange at the halfway stage of the game. Some words were thrown at Parag after he powered Rajasthan to a challenging total with an unbeaten half-century. Riyan Parag also turned back to give it back to Harshal Patel before the support staff had to intervene.

However, everyone thought that it was a one-off moment and the cricketers have come past it. However, to everyone’s surprise, it continued even after the end of the game when the players met for the customary handshake. Harshal Patel denied to shake hands with Riyan Parag and walked past him.

Even Parag was shocked to see him walk past like that and social media was quick to spot Harshal’s actions. The gesture didn’t go down with fans, who took to social media to slam the Bangalore cricketer.

After an impressive 56* with the bat, the cricketer from Assam was also brilliant on the field and grabbed four crucial catches. Speaking of his performances, Riyan Parag stated he is trying to live up to the expectations the franchise has shown in him in the last three years.

“A bit of satisfaction. The Royals have shown faith in me for the last three years, and I am paying them back bit by bit. I love pressure and I am just showcasing my abilities,” Parag said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

With this victory, Rajasthan Royals are currently at the top of the points table with 12 points. Gujarat Titans are also at 12 points but what separates the two sides is the net run rate.
