A young fast bowler from India named Harshit Rana made his Test debut with a great impact by dismissing a batsman on his very first Test match in Perth against Australia. Rana, 22, clean bowled Travis Head in the very first ball of Australia’s first innings’ 12th over.
Rana got his first Test scalp with a good-length ball just outside the off stump. With Head being left on the back foot, he tried to get a foothold and try to gain a handle on the fast delivery from Rana, but he couldn’t keep up. Raj’s ball hit the stumps and that took Head back to the pavilion.
Rana’s wicket was also crucial for India so as to get rid of Head and Marnus Labuschagne at once. The prior display of the young bowler in his Test career will be helpful to the Indian team, which is eager to make a great comeback in series.

Indian cricket team debutant Harshit Rana was over the moon after a remarkable dismissal of Australian cricketer Travis Head during the first day of the Perth Test being played at the Optus Stadium.
Rana’s delivery was par excellence, as he got the seam right and watched the bails flying off—the young bowler’s first Test-wicket ever. The batsman was a 22-year-old. He bowled the lengthball, acclaiming in from round the wicket, which swung in marginally off the pitch to hit the top of the off-stump as Head failed to wither the ball.
The Australian left-handed batsman was left stunned, being dismissed for 11 from 13 balls. Rana’s enjoyment was not anything less than a raucous celebration—dancing in the air, pumping it and roaring while his teammates mobbed him. The dismissal was especially significant because Head has been a big threat to India in the last few games.
