[WATCH]- “Helmet Protects Both Game And Life” – Kerala Police’s Witty Message During Ranji Trophy Semifinal

The Kerala Police Department creatively used humor to spread awareness through an incident from the first semifinal of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The moment occurred at the end of Gujarat’s first innings when Aditya Sarwate dismissed Arzan Nagwaswalla.

Nagwaswalla attempted to flick a flighted delivery to the leg side, making solid contact. However, the ball struck close-in fielder Salman Nizar’s helmet and bounced into the air, allowing the slip fielder to complete the catch and dismiss the batter.

Kerala Police seized the opportunity to promote road safety by sharing the clip on Instagram. They highlighted that just as the helmet protected the fielder, it also saves bikers’ lives when worn while riding. Their post was captioned:

കളിയും, ജീവനും സേവ് ചെയ്യും ഹെൽമറ്റ്🤪 ഫീൽഡിലായാലും റോഡിലായാലും ഹെൽമറ്റ് നിർബന്ധം🙏🏻#keralapolice #trafficpolicekerala (Helmet will save the game as well as life).”

Kerala create history by advancing to the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 final

The Kerala cricket team made history on Friday (February 21) by securing their first-ever spot in the Ranji Trophy final. They accomplished this milestone by knocking Gujarat out of the tournament. Batting first, the southern side posted a formidable total of 457, powered by a brilliant marathon century from wicketkeeper Mohammed Azharuddeen (177).

Gujarat opener Priyank Panchal responded with a superb 148 off 237 balls, guiding his team to a total of 455 before they were bowled out. The dismissal of Arzan Nagwaswalla proved to be a decisive moment, as it handed Kerala a narrow two-run first-innings lead—enough to secure their place in the final.

Kerala then reached 114/4 in 46 overs before stumps, as the match ended in a draw. Led by Sachin Baby, they progressed due to their first-innings advantage and will now face Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 final, starting on February 26.
