Team India registered a dominating win against the arch-rivals Pakistan in the Women’s cricket competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. They had lost to Australia in the opening clash of the event. However, made a fantastic comeback in the tournament to defeat Pakistan by eight wickets. The match witnessed several run-outs, including a huge mix-up resulting in Omaima Sohail’s dismissal.

The incident took place during the fifteenth over of the first innings when Pakistan had put on 80 runs on the board and was looking to get a partnership. Batter Aliya Riaz played a cut shot towards the backward point region and came down the track for a single. Her partner at the other end, Omaima Sohail also set off for the run.

However, Riaz backed off, when Omaima was halfway down the pitch. She had no time to get back in the crease. Radha Yadav did her job well to collect the ball and throw it to Shafali Verma at the bowler’s end, who completed the run-out by dislodging the bails. Omaima Sohail had to walk back to the hut for ten runs off thirteen deliveries.
