[Watch] “I am really proud of him” – Krunal Pandya On Hardik Pandya

Krunal Pandya, the elder brother of Hardik Pandya was seen talking to the host broadcaster about the latter’s last year. Hardik had a rough last year as the fans were unhappy with his takeover as the captain of Mumbai Indians (MI). MI, under Rohit Sharma has won five IPL (Indian Premier League) titles.

However, when Hardik was made the captain, out of nowhere, fans were extremely unhappy with the management and the player as well. Hardik was booed in every cricket stadium he went and eventually, as the 2024 season came to an end, MI finished last on the table.

Krunal Pandya Says He Is Proud Of Hardik

After the inaugural match between RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) finished, Krunal Pandya was talking to the Star Sports team when he said that he is proud of Hardik.

“I am really proud of him. In the last one year, while I haven’t spoken to him much about what all happened but I loved how he stood tall, and that grace is so important in life….really happy and proud, obviously, it was very emotional, winning T20 trophy, and I saw him and all of that. It’s like you know, me and hardik always talk about, it can come across as a little different – you can break us, you can shatter us, but you can’t kill us,” he said.

Hardik Pandya’s Redemption

Hardik Pandya has had a rough last year. However, after the IPL, despite his poor performance, he was one of the key players in India’s T20i World Cup win in USA and West Indies. After that, earlier in 2025, India also secured the ICC (International Cricket Council) Champions Trophy. Hardik was a key player in this tournament as well.

Fans have showered all the love back at Hardik after his brilliant performances. Now, Hardik is back to leading MI and this time, there’s no hate from the fans about him being the captain. MI lost its first match against CSK (Chennai Super Kings) on Sunday night. It will be interesting to see how this year pans out for MI.
