Football legend David Beckham met Team India players ahead of the semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against New Zealand on Wednesday, November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He attended the marquee clash as the UNICEF’s goodwill ambassador along with legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

David Beckham and Sachin Tendulkar walked into the ground at the Wankhede Stadium with the coveted ICC ODI World Cup trophy. The players then assembled on the field for the national anthems. Beckham interacted with the Indian players including Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma near the boundary line. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video featuring the football legend meeting the Indian players.

Sharing the video on social media, the International Cricket Council (ICC), wrote, “Cricket greats meet Football royalty 😮‍💨 #CWC23 #INDvNZ #Cricket #BeAChampion”

Virat Kohli slams 50th ODI Century

Team India batter Virat Kohli etched his name in the history book breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of Most ODI Centuries. He slammed his 50th ODI hundred in the semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against New Zealand on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium. He smashed 117 runs off 113 deliveries with nine boundaries and two sixes at a strike rate of 103.54.

On the back of his knock, and a solid performance from the rest of the top-order batters, India put on 397 runs on the board against New Zealand. This is Virat Kohli’s third century of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. He is the leading run-scorer in the tournament. In ten matches, he has scored 711 runs at an average of 101.57, including three hundreds and five fifties. Overall, Virat Kohli has scored 13794 runs in One-Day cricket for Team India at an average of 58.69. He has slammed 50 centuries and 71 fifties in the format.
