[WATCH]- IND vs BAN Super 4: Suryakumar Yadav’s Sharp Throw Runs Out Jaker Ali

India’s stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav produced a sharp piece of fielding to run out Bangladesh captain Jaker Ali during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday, September 24. The dismissal added to Bangladesh’s troubles in the middle overs of their chase.

Ali walked in after Varun Chakaravarthy bowled Shammim Hossain in the 11th over. With Saif Hassan well-set at the other end, the Bangladesh skipper adopted a supporting role, focusing on rotating the strike. In the 13th over, he attempted a quick single after nudging the ball into the off-side.

His partner called him through, but the risky run backfired. Suryakumar Yadav charged in from inside the circle, gathered the ball cleanly, and unleashed a diving underarm throw that struck the stumps directly. Despite a desperate full-length dive, Ali fell short of his ground, departing for just 4 runs.

India drop two catches after Suryakumar’s direct hit

After a shaky fielding display against Pakistan in the Super 4 stage, India’s struggles in the field appeared to persist in their next outing. While Abhishek Sharma was safe with his catches and Suryakumar Yadav delivered a moment of brilliance, the positives were soon overshadowed by two simple errors.

Both lapses came in the 16th over off Varun Chakaravarthy’s bowling. The first saw Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube collide in the deep due to poor communication, while the second was a straightforward chance that Sanju Samson failed to judge correctly.

Despite the blunders, India’s spinners tightened their grip on the match, putting the side on the brink of another win and extending their unbeaten run. By the 17th over, Bangladesh had slumped to 112-8.
