[WATCH] India Batter Prithvi Shaw Attacked For Not Taking Selfie

Team India batter Prithvi Shaw was involved in a brawl for not taking selfies outside a five-star hotel in Mumbai on 15 February 2023. Oshiwara Police booked 8 people on Wednesday. According to the complaint made by Shaw’s friend Ashish Surendra, Shaw was attacked with baseball bats, the attacker followed the car and threatened if money was not given.

Shaw had gone for dinner in Santacruz when an unknown car came to them and asked for a selfie. Shaw took selfies with 2 people, but the same group returned and asked for selfies with the other accused. The Indian cricketer refused this time saying that he had come to eat food with friends and don’t want to be distributed.  The accused insisted, Prithvi called the manager of the hotel and complaint about them.

The attackers were asked to leave the hotel. The incident did not go well with Shaw and his friends after eating, some people were standing outside with baseball bats. Ashish car was attacked badly by using baseball bats smashing the front and rear windows of the car.

The accused could not stop their anger and Shaw’s friend’s car was stopped near Jogeshwari Lotus Petrol Pump. A lady came out and asked 50,000 if the matter needs to be solved or if the lady will register false charges.

Sapna Gill’s lawyer Ali Kashif Khan has told the media that Prithvi Shaw assaulted her. A total of 8 people have been booked for charging Shaw and his friend, smashing the windshield, and also demanding 50,000 Rs.

“Sapna has been kept in the Oshiwara police station. She is not being allowed to go even for medical examination,” Mr. Khan said.

Prithvi Shaw’s brilliant performance for Mumbai

Prithvi Shaw performed brilliantly for Mumbai in the 2022/23 Ranji Trophy season. He registered the second-highest induvial score of 379 against Assam. Due to injuries and disciplinary issues, Shaw has not played much cricket for Team India. He performed brilliantly in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy this season.

Shaw was included in the squad for the T20I series against New Zealand but did not get a chance as Ishan Kishan and Gill opened innings.
